The best time to schedule a newborn session?

As a Motherhood photographer, I get asked this question a lot as to when is the best time to schedule a newborn session. While this varies between photographers and their particular style, schedule newborn sessions around 2-3 weeks old.Image of clients mounted on a square print and frame

Congratulations! You’re having a baby! When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

I get asked this question a lot – when to schedule a newborn photography session. As many of you might know, my style of newborn photography does not include posing with props and as a result, scheduling your newborn session with a baby that is just days old is not necessary. My goal during my photography sessions is to capture that bond and connection between parents and their children and that can be done at any time. Also, by scheduling your session two to three weeks post birth gives Mom a good amount of time to settle into a routine with the baby and having a better understanding of your baby’s eating and sleeping schedules.

My photography sessions are booked approximately 6 weeks out, so if you’re pregnant and are interested in finding out about my unique approach to Motherhood portrait photography on digital and film, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Also, don’t forget about my hair and makeup ad-on services! We want Moms looking and feeling their best on photography day. I would love to walk you through what I offer for my clients!
